Some cool old horns

The guy's name is Frank, and it is my opinion that he is intentionally ignorant about the instruments so that he does not misrepresent anything. I have bought from him (I think 3 different times) without any problems. I have never bought a tuba, but the horns I got arrived undamaged. His prices have gone up (as the dollar has gone down) pretty significantly over the last 3 or so years. If the price was right I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

Or to put it another way, at least he knows what he doesn't know. He obviously has a lot of experience selling this kind of stuff, and he'll comment on the state of repair, just not much about the playing characteristics. I bought a helicon from him, came out fine.

Hi - In a previous thread entitled "Tarnish", I mentioned a silver Bari Sax my wife and I bought for her. As a matter of fact, the guy you're referring to, "g.mu6" on eBay, is the guy we bought the Bari from. His pictures and description accurately detailed the horn's condition. Shipping from Germany wasn't bad for something this big (around $60), but that surely has gone up in the past 4 years ago. The horn arrived undamaged and turned into a great Bari after we overhauled it. Bottom line - If he had another horn I was interested in and I could spare the money for it, I'd buy it. Before I got my present Tuba, I seriously considered a couple of Euphoniums and Tubas he was auctioning. Anyway, Frank is okay. I hope this helps you -

I bought that Cerveny F tuba that Marty and Wade seem to like from him on ebay.

So that's where it originated from! I had never traced it back prior to you. That was one of the hardest instruments for me to ever to have to part with. When the elephant decides to upgrade to an 8 valve 7/4 gold plated York belled FFF tuba some day, I hope he won't forget about me.
