First Chart, Type One at 50 plus yrs. Even have to ask the barber/stylist to thin it out on top every time cause it grows so thick. Great genes, I guess. My dad was the same way. (But, don't dare ask about my teeth.)

Nordic type 3 by genetics, but like schlep I'm bald by choice.
Got some pictures from one of the band moms from our Christmas concert and got a good look at the back of my head from the audience view. Much to my surprise there was a growing bald spot I knew about the receeding hairline, but was not aware of the spot on the back of my head.
Asked my wife why she didn't tell me and all she had to say was that since I am taller than her she never sees the top of my head. Shaved my head that night and every other day since then.

I use headblade.
Does the headblade work any better than a regular razor? Currently I'm using a Mach 3 turbo and am pretty happy with it, but I'm always open to trying something new if it works better.
And a nice looking hybrid tuba rest your Thor sits atop. Still awaiting word on the brand of drumstand base you're using, Greg. And I would never have recognized you with your new hairdo. Does the chin fuzz keep you warm in winter?
lType 7 if I would let it grow out, but my wife finally talked me into shaving my head this early June last year. It has been that way ever since. Sure has felt better this summer in the heat.

Many thanks for the information and the illustrative pictures, Greg. I've tripped over my K&M stand quite a few times while entering and exiting my practice setup and have been lucky enough to have been spared any tuba damage. This modification looks like it could reduce the risk of wailing and gnashing of teeth due to my clumsy pre and post practice tendencies.
To get back on topic, I'm a Type I. Yup...I just checked in the mirror--Type I.
Actually, my type is not on there! My problem was that I have REALLY thin hair..with clippers, a number 3 would look like they used number 1 clippers. Also, at the very front, I was starting to lose a little hair. So rather than look like I'm balding at 24 (), I decided to shave my head.
Type 1A (leaning towards II.) But thinning and much longer than most my age. I'm still trying to pass as a 33 year old hippie. Do ok with that too as long as they don't get too close.
