sousaphone gig bags

I've been checking the internet and the tubenet archive for sousaphone gig bags ans all I seem to find is protec.

Are these the only gig bags made for sousaphone? are they any good? they seem very affordable. I was just wondering if I'm missing something.

Any suggestions?

No experience with the ProTec sousa bags, but I've always liked my ProTec gig bag for my tuba. For the price the MTS sousaphone hard case is worth considering (has wheels). The "original" Conn bags had a reinforced slit in the side, where you could grab the big circle and hold it sideways with one arm to carry it your side and maneuver it.

Ritter also makes a sousaphone bag. See page 14 on the following PDF (or page 26-27 in the cataloge in the PDF):

I own an older ProTec sousaphone gigbag where the pocket is closed with a zipper. And I could not be more happy with it, once I got the straps shortened. My bag has survived extremely heavy use for 6-7 years now and is still going strong.

(I will try to find and post a picture of me sleeping in the bag, backstage at a jazzfestival.)

Here I am in my gigbag. Not proud of it, but we where tired!!

It was actually quite comfortable. Well padded and kept the light and the noise out.

i have slept in my tuba gig bag in the theater, but don't have a photo - i understand the situation....zzzzzzzzz
