Light the Night

Post by tubapress »

Hi fellow Tubenetters!

I don't often post on topics such as these, but this one has special meaning for me. I thought I would put this out there for the tuba community to consider.

On October 4, 2007 I will be participating in the "Light the Night Walk" in NYC to raise funds to fight Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma. I will join some of my colleagues walking in memory of Carol Tomasullo, a dear colleague who tragically fell victim to Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). She passed away on March 30, 2006, just 3 weeks after having been diagnosed.

If you would, please take a moment to click on the link below:

I would truly appreciate any contribution you could make regardless of the amount towards my goal of raising $5,000 in Carol's memory. Your contribution will be tax-deductible.

I thank you in advance for considering making a contribution!!

Okay...so I have now raised $3700+ toward my goal of $5000 for this wonderful cause.. I would love nothing more than to be able to say that it was the Tubenet community that sent me sailing past my goal!

The Light the Night Walk is next Thursday, Oct. 4, so time is running out on me. I'm hoping you can help me. Just click on the link above. Any size donation helps!

Many thanks !

I have lost too many much loved friends and family over the years to such disastrous afflictions. Not contributing when one has a chance is such a missed opportunity to do something decent for society not to mention our own families. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and allowing us all the honor to participate. I have officially had my card "dinged".

Now excluding the folks who are financially in a bind and these days there are a lot of us. Those of you who have the means, break out some of that coin from your stupid odd-ball mouthpiece collection fund and cough-it-up! .......... With love of corse.

Thanks guys for your support! The total is now up to $3870, with $110 coming from Tubenetters so far. To echo Daniel's words, it is such an important cause to support. I've gotten many, many donations of $10, $20, $50 and then some biggies as well. The point is that even if you can only spare $3, every bit helps! Thanks to those who have already chipped in and thanks in advance to any of you that can find a few spare dollars to help.

Cheers!

Latest Numbers

Post by tubapress »

Hi folks!

Here's the latest update. My total stands at $4656...a mere $344 away from my target! Tubenet contributions to date total $575! Well done! We are so close and, of course, there would be no shame in going well past the $5000 mark either.

Please also note that even after the walk has taken place, donations can still be made all the way through November 16!

Thanks for the wondeful support!

Now 4,721.

Gary, you set a marvelous example for others. Thanks for taking on this responsibility (as well as the first ever TubaChristmas in August, Bethlehem, PA, for two years!).

Hi folks!

The walk is this afternoon and the total stands $4721. Regardless of whether that number tops $5000, I am very pleased and exceptionally grateful to all those who have already donated. As I mentioned in an earlier post, fundraising is now accepted into mid-November, so if you haven't already contributed please do take a moment to consider it.

Thanks again!
