gig bag for large tuba SOLD

Post by Alex C »

SOLD - thanks for looking.

I have a Pro-Tec gig bag for sale. It fits 5/6 & 6/4 tubas with up to a 21" bell. Black.

There are no back straps (nothing like having the backstraps break on your Yorkbrunner backpack) only the shoulder sling and handle in the middle.

PM if interested.

Anyone know if this bag would fit a King 2340 with a recording bell? If it fits a 5/4 or 6/4 bell up tuba, it should fit a 4/4 with bell up BUT mine has a recording bell.

Anyone? Buehler?

I tried it with my King bell front, and I remember it fitting - barely though, very tight on the bell end. I will check for sure later this afternoon. I have both a 1240/2340 and this model ProTec bag.

Barely fits, just barely. You have to turn the recording bell about 45 degrees to the left (your left side as you are holding it). Takes a little finessing of the zipper. That said, it just looks and feels awkward - wrong shape. Now I remember why I only tried this once before. You would probably be better off with an Altieri or Dolly bag custom made.
