PT-6 Valve Cap issue

Post by Jarrod »

Mass-genius that is Tube Net:

I really need to track down at least 1 Back Valve Cap for a rotary silver PT-6. Basically one of my valve caps got damaged, and is no longer usable.

Does anyone have any information that could lead to the procurement of this item? I would be open to purchasing a full set of them if that was the only option.

Thanks a lot

Elephant,

I did not mean to imply that your answer was not helpful, I just realized that I did not clarify, and wanted to amend the post.

I am going to take your suggestion and see what comes of it

Thanks

I did not mean to sound snippy.

Good luck finding whatever parts you need.
That is one of the shortcomings of email and electonic posting sites. There is no tone of voice and the message often gets misconstrued. I tend to answer in quick messages when I'm in a hurry and it is almost always interpreted as "snippy". Emoticons seem to help though  .

You may need to be more specific about which valve cap you're talking about.

I the PT-6 has a graduated bore, ie , the 4th valve is larger than the first. The valve caps may be different for the different valves.

The valves themselves are the same as were used for the PT-10 f tuba and other rotor PT models.

I'd contact Kevin Powers. He sold a PT-10 a year or so ago that he had rebuilt. It had a damaged rotor or two replaced with new ones. If he kept the damaged parts, he just might have the cap you need in a junk box somewhere.

Hope this helps,

Christian
