Tuba 4's - Tubas Under the Boardwalk
I'm putting the last of my tuba mix cd's on to my ipod and I have 5 different songs by a tuba quartet called the Tuba 4's that I downloaded about 6, maybe 7 years ago off of Kazaa. I have 3 of those songs with a title but the other 2 I can not for the life of me figure out what they are!
Way back when I downloaded them, I remembered the files saying that the name of the group was the Disney Tuba Quartet. After doing some research, I found out that the real name of the group was the Tuba 4's.
This is a huge shot in the dark but does anybody have their CD "Tubas Under the Boardwalk"? If so, could you please post the names of the songs along with the duration of the songs. I want the duration because that is the only way that I can think of matching the song with a name.

Re: Tuba 4's - Tubas Under the Boardwalk
Maybe if you had bought their CD's instead of stealing their music they would have more time to create new music and share with all of us. Maybe they could tour etc. and spread the great sound of a tuba group and get more folks wanting to hear more of this type of music. Maybe they would inspire new groups and artists. Maybe other artists would work the tuba into their groups. Maybe more charts would be created that the rest of us could play. And maybe you would have already had the names of the tracks.tubaribonephone wrote: I downloaded about 6, maybe 7 years ago off of Kazaa.

Oh - I forgot - guys like you who steal music from small artists who could really use the income don't hurt anybody - in your minds.

This is one of my favorite tuba CDs. Generous in the quantity of tracks, and VERY MUSICAL in its arrangements and performances.
I had the pleasure of hearing the quartet live when they visited Chicago a number of years ago. Willie Clark's mother was there, and they dedicated their fine rendition of the Temptations' "My Girl" to her. She was in tears.

Unless you can find one used I don't think they are currently available anywhere. I bought mine at DisneyWorld when I was listening/watching Gail, Willie, et al do their thing. I think it's a shame the way Disney treated their musicians, but that is the way of corporations sometimes.Z-Tuba Dude wrote:Is there any source, from which to purchase the CD?

Re: Tuba 4's - Tubas Under the Boardwalk
I'm not trying to make excuses but I was 16 and my family didn't have much money to go around, let alone money to buy me tuba cd's that I wanted. I knew that the best way that I could get better as a player, aside from practicing, was to listen to as many pro players as I could and since my local library didn't have anything tuba related at all, I figured the next best thing was to see if I could find anything online. There really wasn't much out there but one of the first things I found was the Arnold Jacobs mp3's in the Tips section. Then after typing "tuba mp3" into a search engine, I found a link to a program called Audiogalaxy. And since there wasn't any sort of fuss yet about using programs like Audiogalaxy, I didn't see any harm about it.tofu wrote:Maybe if you had bought their CD's instead of stealing their music they would have more time to create new music and share with all of us. Now, I buy just about all my cd's minus the ones that friends burn for me and give to me as gifts. I completely support musicians and would have bought the cd at the time if I had the money (and if my parents weren't so paranoid about buying stuff online....).
Bottom line, I was a 16 year old kid looking to get better and be the best that I could be. Given my circumstances at the time, I HONESTLY don't see anything wrong with what I did. If a kid came up to me and told me that they wanted some tuba stuff to listen to but didn't have the money, I would gladly help them out and wouldn't hesitate to burn them a few cd's. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I don't know though, maybe there is something wrong with me.... I guess I'm just to nice
