The Incredible Returning Copper Tuba

Post by DonShirer »

Copper must be a superconductor because Fred Sander's tuba is again current on EbBay.

I wonder how many mood rings this would make?

When I first saw this post, I figured it was just another bogus listing.

That copper Sander tuba was purchased from Fred Marzan's estate by Kit Johnson a little while back. Kit plays tuba with the Black Swan Classic Jazz Band. Have a listen to Kit's arrangement of 'Dude Ranch Blues'. I don't know if he posts on this forum or not, but since he has a web page, he surely won't mind having his informaiton being posted here. You will find a bit of information about Kit, the Black Swan Classic Jazz Band, and a link to 'Dude Ranch Blues' here:

Never figured you for a wagering-kind of guy! :P
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

What do you mean by this?
What motive could anybody have for doing such a thing?
SystemAdmin says "please, no eBay scandals". I don't know if he is referring to this.
If so, I beg to differ. Lots of us want to buy or sell tubas on eBay, and we need information about its risks.
That's what TubeNet is for, right?
My handy little English dictionary defines scandal as an event that among other things causes general public outrage. I can't think of much that meets that criterion on EBay - however morally or legally questionable it may be.

I don't know how to advise about the risks, though, other than to say, not every article offered for sale on EBay is genuine. It could be grossly misrepresented, or even the offer to sell it may be fraudulent inasmuch as the seller may not have it, or at any rate has no intention of sending it to you. Transaction history helps establish that the seller's fraud has been within tolerable limits, but bear in mind that it's in buyers' interest to leave positive feedback to avoid trouble - so 95% positive feedback may mean trouble (or it may not.) Caveat emptor means don't set yourself up for a loss you can't laugh at.
