Greatly welcome colleagues comments on Selmer sousa's. Did they have idiosyncratic tuning bits etc. Thsi is the model that I'm considering - any advise would be very helpful.

Composers shouldn't think too much -- it interferes with their plagiarism.

For What it's worth,
"Blessing" Fiberglass sousaphone
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... =p3907.m29
Looks to me to be a "Reynolds"/"Old's" horn (Reynolds style brace base and valve caps)
The Reynold/Olds fiberglass sousaphones that I have play pretty well, and the top first valve slide moves. Joe(bloke) comments that the fiberglass on these horns feel more"brittle" than others. Maybe due it's location, it hasn't suffered a lot of UV light like here in So California(or South East US)
Hope this helps,
Dave Hayami

I have one of these Buesher horns that is just like a Conn 14K, and I love it. Plays great. Good intonation and strong false tones. Takes normal Conn neck and bits.Riton wrote: I can buy an Elkhart, Made by Buesher sousaphone from 1970-75 (serial 53xxxx), looks like Conn 14k. Probably made under ownership of Selmer.
In this post it was stated that this sousaphone looked like a Conn 14k but was indeed very different.
Can someone tell me about quality of this instrument type ?
