Concert repertoire for orchestral low brass section

Post by schneidah »

Hey all,

I was wondering what music was out there for 3 trombones (2 tenor, 1 bass) and tuba. The Tomasi Etre ou ne pas etre was the first thing that came to mind; I also found the following hits on my site searches:

While I’m interested in any and all recommendations--I dig arrangements, and am not averse to doing my own--I’m particularly seeking works composed specifically for this instrumentation. Just wondering if there’s been anything that's come to the TNFJ's attention since this topic was last broached. Thanks!

Although not written for your specific instrumentation, a lot of tuba quartet music will work, depending on your bass trombone's ability to play the first tuba part. And, in reverse a lot of trombone quartet music will work depending on your tuba player's ability to play the fourth trombone part.
