Tuba part is, for the most part, a yawner as I recall, but the contra part is definitely audition material for a reason: the piece begins with an extended and involved contra solo.
Interesting piece...just not to play.

I am convinced that 90% of the problems with rhythm, tone, intonation, articulation, technique, and overall prowess on the horn are related to air issues.
