Both.
I fell extinct with the rest of the dinosaurs when I realized I like my reel to reel best for practice playback, rather than all of the trendy gadgets that glimmer with their beautifully packaged bells, whistles and inflated price tags.

Had 1) but not 2).
Best Buy is out--sorry Schlepp--had too many bad experiences there
--but I can still use circuit city for a "quick" trip if I need something I'm sure they'll have.
Otherwise I wait and go to Fry's when I get the chance.

Funny how things run in cycles. A few years back I bought a PSION Revo at my local Circuit City as an 'open box' item. Even the manager did not know what it was or what it was doing in his store. It was apparently was just something that was a sample at some point. At the time, it was one of the hottest PDA's in Europe.... with a full qwerty keyboard. I think I bought it for $20! Now.... the Blackberries have miniature qwerty keyboards!

I'm with you, Joe. I used to be IN the business until I took my forced vacation; and that was long enough to put me irrevocably out of the loop, so now I, too, just learn only the bare minimum, and let someone else shake out the bugs and find the pitfalls. It's a LOT easier that way!

If I know exactly what I'm looking for... and I don't need any help from a sales person, then maybe I'll go to Circuit City. But usually, this is my last choice of places to shop.
I'm not crazy about Best Buy either.

That sounds very much like what one of my friends related when he was turned down for employment at a nationwide chain of shacks that don't really sell radios any more.Coder wrote:
