World Class Sound

Post by Captain Sousie »

I don't know if this is a re-post but I just had to bring it up. Have any of you checked out the army band website?

http://bands.army.mil/masterclass/tusab ... 1/tuba.htm

That is just interesting.

World Class Sound

And I thought that having a "world class" sound only involved two steps.

1)Wish for it
2)Announce that you have it

I noticed that the article uses a very, very bad word. I hope I don't get bleeped for this.

How dare you use such language...
OK. OK. Is it possible to delete the above expletive? I know Nixon was able to have that done on some transcripts, but that was a long time ago.

Hey Schleppy

Here is Mother Fletcher's definition of practicing:

Practicing: 1.the action of someone who has little or no faith in their inherent abilities 2. to do something that shows a complete lack of confidence 3. see 'useless waste of time" in the OED*

*-"Old English" Dictionary, now in convinient 40 oz. bottles for the seriously learning impaired hoping through the miracle of chemicals AND alcohol to stay that way.

Remember kids:

Like fat chicks and spandex, performing is privilege, not a right.

It does, but you have them backward.

1)Announce that you have it
2)Wish for it

 :D
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Indeed! You're right again, Bug. Thanks for the correction. Do I get any points for being close.

My students at Long An University of Technology and Economics (even though the school isn't officially open, classes started the beginning of December) have this posted inside their Conversational Business English syllabus (it's from the school, not me)
Practice little, but practice often; about six times a day, six days a week.
