Anyone played the Tuba Exchange TE1300 in either lacquer or silver?

I live about 10 minutes from Tuba Exchange, so I've had the opportunity to play several different lacquer and silver TE1300s on several different occasions over the past couple of months, as well as a lacquer TE1150 (comp).

I play-tested the TE1300s side-by-side with a King 2280 (silver) and a Yamaha 321 (silver), and IMO, the TE1300 gives the Yamaha 321 and King 2280 a run for the money in terms of build quality and intonation (not to mention price: the silver TE1300 is half the cost of either a 321 or 2280 in lacquer). The 1300 is far more open and free-blowing than the 321, and to my ear, has a darker, rounder, more singing sound than either the 321 or the 2280. Intonation is good, and the partials line up very well.
