Dear All,
As I watch the snow pile up here in the eastern part of the US, I figure today would be a great day to post sounds from recent conferences, etc.
On the Cimarron Music Press site (http://www.cimarronmusic.com/) I have posted new sound files by composers Elizabeth Raum and Barbara York.
Here is the list:
1360 Tribute (Elizabeth Raum) - Don Harry and Barbara York performing at NERTEC (1361 is the Euphonium version)
1254 Elegy for an Angel - Don Harry and Barbara York performing at NERTEC
1192 Concerto - John Griffiths and Barbara York performing at ITEC 2007
1216 3 Romances for Susie - Don Harry and Barbara York performing at NERTEC
1170 Directions - samples provided by Mike Fischer
1327 Concerto - samples provided by Mike Fischer
1345 Sonata - Adam Crowe and Barbara York performing at NERTEC which was the premiere performance
Many thanks go out to all of the above who gave us permission us to post samples from their performances!
All of the above are also available from the BVD Press website (http://www.bvdpress.com/). In addition, the new Oystein Baadsvik CD is available on this site.
Some more news and notes:
The Barbara York Sonata for Euphonium is nearing completion. I am guessing it will be shipped in the next couple of weeks. It can be pre-ordered from the Cimarron Music Press site. Thanks to all who participated in the project!
Cimarron has commissioned 3 new Tuba Quartets that will each be app. 12 minutes long. The composers are:
Elizabeth Raum - http://www.elizabethraum.com/
Barbara York - http://www.cimarronmusic.com/BarbaraYork/
James Woodward - http://jameswoodwardmusic.com
Like the York project earlier this year, we will probably open this up and offer all 3 pieces together at a reduced rate. All pieces should be completed and available for purchase for ITEC 2008. They are being composed for the Willson Tuba Quartet and with a little luck they will also be performed at ITEC!
Earlier this year we also co-commissioned Tony Plog (http://www.anthonyplog.com/) to compose a new quartet for Sotto Voce (http://www.tubaquartet.com/). The schedule is to have this available in Fall of 2008.
Wishing all a happy and healthy holiday season,
NERTEC and ITEC sounds and more posted
