No thanks...I only date F helicons. must have 4 rotary valves and 2 tuning bits.

ser.no. on mine is 187101 was made in 1953 acording to the Lablanc company said mine was made in 1953. Check there site out and see if it might have your ser. no. listed for your martin. just me what I know rob bass

Beleive it or not.... there was a day when Eb was a more popular school horn than BBb for starting kids out on tuba. I started playing in 1955 and didn't even see a BBb tuba until 1963!

the BBB standard of 2 Eb/2BBb was common in earlier 1900s US bands too. Ever wonder why so many marches and concert literature are frequently written in octaves?

Having the octave doubling can add a lot of clarity to the bass line. According to Wm Revelli (the late "Chief") it was quite effective in marching as well as in concert settings.

Thus, an Eb sousie.

Yep. That's what happened to me. I was late getting to the bandroom for sign-up and all the cool stuff was already taken! I got the old Eb Conn tuba.
