I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. No offense to anyone, but I could care less what a friend of the seller says about the horn their friend is trying to sell. Really, what friend would come on this board and say the horn is a piece of crap?!

What about ENEMIES!? :D
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I think 30 days is a bit long. 7 would be cool. Most folks these days won't dig past the 2nd page and 30 days right now puts you on page 6.

i usually stick to the 3-4 day policy. usually by that time my ad is to the second page where nobody looks (usually). i'll give it longer if it's still on the front. i think the elephant posted something along those lines a while back. can't find the original post.

I may be in the minority here, but I would place some weight on a testimonial from someone I know to be trustworthy. Others, I would simply dismiss. If it is a person I trust, I feel it is worth hearing from him/her. For instance, if our "Resident Genius" were to endorse an instrument or item, you could take that to the bank. Obviously, there are quite a few others whom we all respect their opinions.

Just a thought. I agree with the bumping being a nuisance.

How about: a bump after the 1st week, the 2nd week, the 1st month, and once/month thereafter.

I have read TubaRay's post, and let me be the first to say that it is an outstanding post in every respect. Whether reading this post in a full orchestra, as a solo post, or in a small ensemble, I do not think that one could find a more responsive post. If I hadn't just bought a bulletinboard post myself, I'd jump all over it!

Thank you for that heartfelt endorsement, Bug. I'll pay you the next time I see you.
