Does anyone know where I can obtain (purchase) a copy of Barney Child's Seaview for tuba? I played it several years back and would like to revisit it but I seem to have lost my copy. I have searched online but evidently the publisher, MM Cole, is out of business. If there is no way to obtain one, are photocopies an option? I don't really want to violate copyright law or take anyone's intellectual property but what does one do when things go out of print? Any suggestions?
Also, any suggestions for other contemporary solo tuba pieces would be appreciated. I enjoy mixed-media pieces that utilize tuba along with tape recordings and the like, but any contemporary suggestions are appreciated as long as range is suited to BBb or CC.
Thanks,
Craig McClelland

Bump!
Bump!
Maybe moving this back to the top for some weekend Tubenet traffic will generate some response.
Please help me find a copy of Child's Seaview. I see it appears on various lists of college tuba requirements so surely someone here has played it. Does anyone know where I can find a copy?
Also, I still need recommendations for contemporary ("new music") solos, preferable mixed-media (tuba & tape, tuba & percussion, etc.).
Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig,
This is a long shot, but you may be able to find some information from the University of Redlands where Barney Childs was a professor. I was in Prof. Childs New Music course back in the late 80's. He has since past away, but they may be able to point you in the right direction. I wonder if the composition department there might have an archive of his works available. I remember he was a brilliant man with a sharp sarcasm. Here's a link. http://www.redlands.edu/x229.xml. Good luck!

Thanks Ken,
I think I have found a copy courtesy of another Tubenetter but I appreciate the tip.
I could still use some suggestions for mixed media pieces. There are several Cage pieces with unspecified instrumentation I can do but would welcome any input on "new music" (for lack of a better term) works for tuba and tape or synth or whatever.
