People who want you to make their 17 year old child behave, but when you ask about discipline, they tell you "I could never discipline a child".

I agree with Tom 100% on people who "call for help" when they are stopped for a violation. And when parents show up, it is a ticket every time.

Sergeants who question your tactics and decisions who haven't moved out of the office or actually been on the street in more than a year.

People arrested for DUII who ask you why you're not out arresting "real" criminals.

Child molesters who say that the child "wanted it".

People who drive 45 miles and hour in a 55 mile an hour zone because a marked patrol unit is behind you.

People who stop abrubtly in the left lane when they see a marked patrol unit with its lights and siren on...or who fail to see said unit, and peer ahead, trying to figure out why every other car on the road has pulled to the side.

Sopranos and violins.

Letting your dog poop in my yard, and not picking it up.

Throwing trash in the bed of my pick-up.

Spilled microbrew.

CMB in a container.

My pet peeve .... lack of everyday common courtesy . The kind your mother taught you and dad would whip you for if you forgot what momma taught you .
This current generation seems to lacking it severly. It's a small percentage of kids today that know how to let a woman or elderly person go in the door first or to use words like "please",thank you","your welcome" etc ...... .It makes me sick . I have to closley mointor my own kids to make sure they are being polite because they loose being around thier friends .

Almost had a wreck on I65 south of Nashville a week ago. 65 MPH limit, cars going around 70. Marked patrol car on the side of the road - so the guy in front of me slams on the brakes and drops to 45 in an instant.

I mentioned earlier my dislike for folks who speak in acronyms and 'kiddle slang'.... and .... low and behold...

My newpaper rolled up yesterday with a full page glossy ad insert with 'BFD' in very big, bold letters at the top. In parenthesis, it said 'Big Fabulous Deal'! Well.... it certainly caught my eye since all my life (60-some years) I have had a very clear understand of what BFD meant. I figure Dominoes knows EXACTLY what the acronym means.

But that's how I tune - set 4th so it sounds just like 1-3! :D

What I need is an automatic low Db valve: I hate 2-3

How about kids who can't read and parents who educate them with television sets?

People who go to grocery stores, pay for their purchases with food stamps, and drive away in a brand new escalade

People who feel that they have a right to stand up, talk, and visit with their neighbors at a concert.

People who think that a graduation ceremony is a sporting event. They also feel that they should be able to walk into my orchestra pit and visit with everyone at a considerable volume level.

Another language pet peeve:

I hate it when British people go out of their way to use words which mean something different to Americans. (The peeve isn't against the people, it's the language...)

In the supermarket:

"Go get the trolley over there?"

"Trolley? Saigon has trolleys? I thought there were only city buses."

Upon meeting people:

"Next time I'm in Ho Chi Minh City, I'll ring you..."

"You'll wring me?"

In a hotel...

"Look, tomorrow morning I'll come down and knock you up!"

"You'd better not!"

That's actually the MAIN reason I have a radar detector in my car. I always like to know when I'll be approaching a speed trap, or when there is a police vehicle nearby because whenever a cop car is in the vicinity, the majority of drivers start paying more attention to the cop than to their own driving. I go on high moron alert when there is danger of cop car distraction.

Once again, Marty, we are on the same frequency …

I posted that this morning because I was almost late to work- a "pick-em-up" driver had parked over the line so much I could not open the passenger door, and when I drive my wife's Civic that is the only place the tuba will fit. (Child seats in the back will not allow the big horn even when I am sans kids.)

Isn't that what car keys are for...??

I've never seen ANY paint on ANY car or truck that couldn't be easily cut by a car key.
or "accidentally" elbow the side mirror enough to fold it into the body. Sometimes the mirror just pops off.

And I drive a pick-em-up truck.
