HELP! ... Wayward King Bell

Post by Dan Schultz »

HELP! I sent a detachable upright bell out on approval a while back and forgot who I sent it to. I've lost your email address. All I remember is that the bell has the same tenon as the King 124X/234X tubas but has a rim diameter of only about 17". It was to try out on a King 'Symphony' rotary tuba. There are only a few of these King rotary horns around so it shouldn't be too hard to track down. I'm hoping the person I sent it to frequents this list. Please give me a shout off list.

EDIT.... Friday, January 18, 2008
I figured out where I sent the bell, guys. Now... I need to get back to work on that closet full of Yorks. I'll have #3 and #4 ready in a couple of months.

Hey Dan -

How about letting me try York #4 on approval?
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

Is it time for "encroaching senility" jokes? I resemble those, unfortunately. If I didn't have phones at both home and work, that I can leave messages for myself on, and a computer calendar at work that I put literally everything in (including instructions to call myself at home and tell myself to put a note on the bathroom mirror for "X" appointment) .... I'd miss a lot of stuff I'm supposed to do.

Ever tried to learn fingerings for a new instrument when you are well into the time frame when such things don't come easily? I figure it keeps me hopping.

Hopefully the person who is testing the bell is honest. Most tuba players are.

Oh... honesty is not the issue at all. I maintain a list or serial numbers and owners of every instrument I work on, buy, or sell.... just to keep myself straight. However... this was just a part of a horn and the only record I had was within my email program. The problem is that I went through and purged all of my emails prior to the 1st of the year... a stupid mistake on my part.

Then you must've lost that PayPal record of me paying you $10K for my choice of your horns... :D :D
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

No. You see - We've already got one.

Hey, Eric!... my records turned out to be pretty good. I just needed to remember where to look!
