Thank you for that. And you seem to be having so much fun doing it.

I remember one day back in the 60's marching with a Navy band in a Mardi Gras parade dodging flying beer and whisky bottles!

That's not music, it is a marching cheat sheet. When unfolded it has a giant "L" on it. It reminds the user to leadoff with the LEFT foot. I only use it because Tiedeman uses one. I don't want to make him feel alone.ufonium wrote:What is Cameron holding? He doesn't need music still, does he?
What's funny is that the two marches around Arlington that day were pretty enjoyable. It is nice to look at and it really was not all that cold.
BTW, photo credit goes to the one and only Matt Summers. As a new father he has found that he must have every high-tech, picture-taking, internet-searching gadget in his pocket at all times. Pictures of baby, bikes, and double-belled baritones come in very handy.

I remember some ceremonies we did in Berlin, Germany, where we didn't get that much snow, but we had a worse problem:
It would be nice and warm (about 26 degrees Fahrenheit) during a change of command ceremony when suddenly there would be a sudden wind change and drop in temperature (20-20 degrees). It was OK when we were playing in place but once we stepped off, the wind would hit our valves (and the trombone slides) and everything would freeze up. It was like playing valveless bugles.
