Stars and Stripes Forever Piccolo part

Post by TubaingAgain »

The director of my local community band wants the tuba section to learn the piccolo part for Stars and Stripes. So where do I start looking for it, for tuba? Any ideas??
Sure hope someone might have a copy.

Thanx

While admittedly it's fun, Tubas playing S&SPiccPt are like the proverbial dancing elephant. The amazing thing is not that it is done well, but that it is done at all.

Did it junior year in high school. Just get the pic part, figure out the notes (not used to counting that many ledgers above the staff, are you???) and read it down. Leave out all the initial turns until you get it down.

Here, Hear!!!!

Or even worse. Showing up at a tuba workshop and having a tuba-euph ensemble trot out a cute litte girl to play the tuba part on piccolo while the tuba player plays the piccolo part. Twice In the same afternoon. On the same ensemble recital program. When did the 2nd group think it was a good idea? Or the first.
