"It's not going to fit into the standard garage," said Mark Oberle, a spokesman for Navistar, based in Warrenville, Ill., outside Chicago. "We can see it a as a vehicle for business people who want to make distinct impression. For personal use, it's for people who want to make a statement." http://money.cnn.com/2004/09/13/pf/auto ... /index.htm
This is exactly what I need! Another behemoth SOB on the road to look up to while I try to enjoy a drive in my MG Midget! Where's the DOT when we really need them? This has gotten totally out of hand.

What happened to the back of it...It appears to be missing.
Hehe... at least it makes good use of the airspace from the roofline to the bumper... Still plenty of parts for it, though (some in better taste than others). Like it or not, I'll always be a hatchback guy.
Who can think of any other PRODUCTION car EVER MADE that was THIS cool?
I gotta say -- that year, plus the '68 and the '62 (even with its "half-stingray" styling), are easily my favorite Vettes. I'm going to miss the popup headlights.
I'll always have a soft spot for Porsches and older Z-cars, too. Plus Cobras, Sevens (Caterham & Lotus), and a few others.

I only purchase vintage American iron.
You mean like a Gremlin? Now... there was ugly! Or how 'bout maybe an AMC Pacer?

Yup, although I like to enjoy mine whether it's moving or sitting still.
I don't have a whole lot that's entirely "mine" (and with payments, even that is debatable), but doggone it, I'm going to have my fun.
Speaking of hybrids, I would've probably gotten an Insight if 1) I was able to test drive one, 2) my tubas could fit, and 3) the current Si didn't exist.
Since I'd have to fill up once a month instead of every couple weeks, I'd notice a more immediate effect of the higher efficiency. The difference would pay for a cheap date.
Plus, getting carpool lane privileges is another bonus (even if it's rumored to be temporary, at least until there are tons of hybrids out there).
Besides, the MSRP of the hybrid Civic is just as much as my Si. But, even though the Si has extras like a sunroof and a fast motor (not counting what I've added to mine), dealers have been willing to knock down the price into the 17's simply because Americans still don't like hatchbacks.
PhilW. wrote:Hybrids don't really save you that much money. I have seen several examples, and given the price difference between a Honda Civic Hybrid and just a regular Civic, you'd have to drive 75,000 miles until you finally paid for the difference between the two.

Don't buy new technology too soon, or you will be left holding the bag.
I'm waiting for hydrogen powered cars. Until then, I will continue riding my RZ500 two-stroke racing motorcycle that leaves a nice trail of blue smoke.

I will agree. The only other cars that come close to those 63 - 67 vettes are the same vintage Jaguar E-types (sorry I don't have a picture.) They just remind me of a beautiful woman.
