After recent conversations with "knuxie" and "TexTuba," I/we have decided to have another jam session during the upcoming TMEA conference in San Antonio. We did this last year at my house, and had six TubeNetters participate. We had a great time. So here we are in 2008 and at least a few of us would like to do this again, so we have decided to invite anyone who would like to join us.
We plan to have the get-together on Friday, February 15th, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Depending on the number of people who want to join us, we will either have this at my house or at the Univ. of Texas @ San Antonio. If any of you TubeNetters would like to be part of this, please contact me and I will give you the details you need(directions, etc.).
We will be reading through whatever music the group wants to play, so bring anything you'd really like to do. All euphonium and tuba players are invited.
You may contact me or Ralph Alvarado(TexTuba). Either use the PM feature of TubeNet or you may email me direct at the following email address: TubeRay(at)satx.rr.com
Wayne, I understand you don't plan to be at TMEA this year. If you are, you are certainly invited. Charlie, Bill, & Al, you are certainly invited again. As I type this, I know Ralph and Ken plan to be there. Let us hear from you.
Once again, the date and time are Friday, February 15, 2008, from 7:30 p.m. to whenever we get tired.

I'll see if I can find you one to play, Charlie. Please come and join us. We could also use a couple more euphonium players, if anyone is interested. Actually, euphonium or tuba players are still welcome.CJ Krause wrote:with all i have to bring for the Kuehnl-Hoyer booth in trumpets and trombones, i dont think i will have room to bring my tuba.

Jam Session During TMEA
Here's an update to the initial announcement:
Due to growth in the number of participants, we will have this session at the University of Texas at San Antonio band room. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. All TubeNetters are very welcome to come and blow a few notes. In fact, they are welcome to come and bring a few notes. We will be reading through whatever music anyone happens to bring along for tuba-euph ensemble. It is shaping up to be a really fun time.
For more info and/or directions, please contact me at:

I hope I get to meet some more TubeNet people at this event. There will be several TubeNetters present.
