I'm so pleased to get this news. It hasn't been the same without him. I hope it is a marriage that lasts...at least long enough for me to make my next tuba upgrade. I bought my tuba from Charlie Krause at Brasswind and I now look forward to doing business again. Roger is a real pro in the industry.

Surprising considering Roger's close relationship with Gerhard Meinl.I'm sure there are good reasons if this is true...

Tuba Dome

Unless there was a buyout involved, one has to assume that Roger put the business in mothballs or dissolved it altogether. Without a long-term contract including a sweet parachute clause, I would assume the former. Ultimately, that is Roger's business. I'm just glad to see him back at WWBW.

Now if they can get the mighty Allora 186 and 191 back online as well as a B-flat Thor knock off, life will be good. And if the Corben Dallas/Leeloo ticket wins the presidential election, life will be perfect.

Well.....

Post by Roger Lewis »

Thank you all for your comments.

Yes, I am back at Brasswind. Tubadome was a great adventure and getting to work with the Meinl Weston instruments was a great experience. Since the bankruptcy at Brasswind many things have changed and some things were unsettled here. Once things turned and the business climate improved, one of the Vice Presidents of Musician's Friend and I began to chat. It became clear to me that they needed my help. They made an offer, and I accepted.

The great thing is that I still get to work with the great Meinl Weston instruments (and Gerhard Meinl is and always will be a wonderful and dear friend), but also with all the other manufacturer's offerings.

There will be a lot of rebuilding over the next few months and even more brands of tubas being brought in for people to play. And, yes, the Allora BBb tubas are in the works and should be back in stock in the next few months.

Tubadome was a great experience and I learned a lot there, but at the Brasswind I feel I can be of even more value to the playing community. We are looking at becoming a TubeNet sponsor in the near future as well.

If you need to reach me: rlewis (at) wwbw (dot) com or 1-800-348-5003, extension 2266. Let me know if I can help out.

Peace.
Roger
