This is the way Yamaha used to put their logo on their horns years ago. I don't know when they switched to engraving, but I have seen many of the older horns with this "stamped" logo. I haven't found a good serial number list for Yamaha, but you could try writing to them.

Actually, it isn't "stamped" in the sense of a metal stamping, but rather applied with a decal or stencil.

I do know that stripping the lacquer from one of these makes the Yamaha logo go bye-bye.

I owned a YBB 641 BBb last year for a while. I contacted Yamaha directly to find out when the horn was made (by serial number). I was told by not one, but two people that Yamaha does not keep a record of the date of manufacture. Shocking; but that's what they told me.
