The following is an ad from Baltimore Craigslist "Skilled Trade/ Craft" job postings. These bungholes really think it's fair to pay the entertainment the same as they pay dishwashers/hamburger flippers/bar backs? What is the world coming to?

Wouldn't you hate to sit in front of an $8 trumpet player for a 4 hour gig?

Hmmm ... Hanover, MD, between Baltimore and D.C. Seems like they would at least pay scale (especially if they're looking for "experienced players" -- I doubt they'll get pros at that rate!). :roll:

Eight bucks an hour isn't bad for a VERY occasional "Duh duh-duh-duhduh-dat Duh!"... besides, it's for trumpeters, for god's sakes!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Having been to Medieval Times several times, I agree that this gig is not on the same level as a typical freelance gig (wedding, church job, etc). I think the level of player they are looking for is competent high school level playing. Like The Elephant said - play the notes with a decent sound.

the most important part about the electronic bugles (according to the guy I saw with one last year) is to remember to turn it off as soon as it finishes. It has a replay of 5 or 10 seconds, or some similarly short span. He's had it replay twice.

They do say that it is a choice between that or it being played on a stereo, ONLY when a live bugler is unavailable. At least they are making that clarification.

Agreed, as long as people are not going with the 'electronic' bugles over live players, I for one have no problem with this device.
