I just thought the way the author wrote about it was funny. Also the thought of the composer grimacing as they butchered his piece was worth a chuckle.

Don't let the pinko liberals label us "wackos'', me brother. Lots more wacko to be found on their side.

I believe there are plenty of wackos to go around. They are on both sides of the political aisle. I am just more annoyed by those "pinko liberals."

Locally there is a group called "Pickin' Friends". Anyone can show up with guitar, mandolin or any traditional instrument and bang along with "I'll Fly Away" and many other three chord favorites until the audience's eyes glaze over.
Ralax, fellas. Libs and right - wing conspirators are equally capable of producing crappy music.

That's funny, I wonder if this group gets paid for playing(or setting things in motion). It certainly would be lucrative to a pub owner as it would draw a crowd of listeners and participants.
The average age in this group is around 70. The pub scene may prove to be too much for them by about the second night.
They always put out a tip jar. Suddenly they got uniforms. Tips must be good. Now I hear they want to make a c.d. I am prepared to be underwhelmed.

The pinko liberal remark in the original post was just a reference to the perceived liberal bias of the NYT. Every time my Republican co-worker catches me reading nytimes.com he gives me grief about it. Thick skin here. 8)
