Post by MaryAnn »

I got my annual bonus a week ago and have $6k+ burning a hole in my pocket.

What should I do with it?

Go on a musical tour. Travel and hear some of the groups you really want to hear. It might be a task to work it around vacation time or work schedule but $6K could get you a concert or two. Maybe an opera at The Met into the equation?

Everyone who shows up at my house this coming Saturday will be treated to bowling, pizza, and beer! (within reason, especially since allergies prevent me from ingesting both the pizza AND the beer. )

What's the address? Have the police been notified? (We *are* tuba players!)

Sounds better than investing it in Bear Sterns.

What's the address?
Providing us with the address would be too easy and thus not worthy of the award of time and beer with the lovely MA.
You'll have to use deductive reasoning to figure out the location.

Ms. Mary Ann I hope whatever you spend your bonus on has huge and long lasting good effects for you and yours.
Hanging with you would absolutely be worth us springing for our own pizza, beer and bowling.
I'd like to see Arizona. Heard it's pretty out there.
We pronounce it Guf Coast

Buy my tuba...
Seriously, The musical tour sounds like a great idea. I saw a advertisement for a cruise around the Med. Sea with the Vienna Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta.

How do I get whatever job you have??
Spend seven years from when you are 32 until when you are 39 alternately going to school and dropping out to work so you can go back to school. Get straight A's and graduate with high honors with your BSEE. Get a bunch of offers upon graduating and take one based on where you want to live. Stay in that job and do what nobody else wants to do and get damn good at it.

PS: I think I'm going to buy some windows for my house. The ones to be replaced are the original casement style, leak like sieves, and I can hold a conversation with someone standing outside, in a normal tone of voice. I have to wear ear plugs to sleep. It would be nice to sleep with only the windows shut and not my ear canals plugged. I love the birdies but not when they tweet at 5 a.m.

Did you know Gambel's quail are so insistent on beating the competition that they will spend hour upon hour pecking at a window that has their reflection in it? They talk to the reflection too, just like parakeets. Unfortunately I am on the other side of that reflection, and I'm not all that interested in what they have to say.

I should be receiving one of these way cool TOP HANDLE chainsaws in the next day or two. These things are soooo handy to manage when you are trying one-hand a chainsaw while on a ladder. I tried one recently and OH YEAH! I got to get me one of these!

If you don't have at least 50 mouthpieces, then you need to get busy and start working on the collection.

You can contact Steve Kennedy at Kennedy optics about making you a mirror for one of these.

WWBW is just about giving away VMI 3301.

So many possibilities.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

What should I do with it?

In the past, I would have said Atlantic City. Now, I say sound investment of some sort. You could buy a good vintage baseball rookie card or two or three, and watch your investment soar in five years. A 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle depending on the condition of it could be bought for that now, and your investment may yield 3 to five times that in five years. I unfortunately have been studying this as of late, result of dwindling gigs here in B-more.
