It is gravy.
The horn part, however, will have them smiling from ear to ear.
We are playing it for our spring (theme) concert. The tuba part is rather easy. Just count because there's alot of measures rest's in there and String Bass cues. It's a fun piece to hear .

you get to be godzilla (or at least his feet) have fun! if you don't have a string bass player you'll have a few more notes. but you probably will so i'd either resign yourself to that fact or go tonya harding on his ***. the former is probably recommended.
when we played this in my undergrad, the trombone section brought out champagne and glasses (for when godzilla is defeated. or is he?)
anyways, about halfway through the piece, the cork popped because it was so hot on stage! pretty funny/cool schtick
have fun with it

I keep seeing this thread on the top of the list, because people keep posting to it. I keep contemplating the title, and, well, I just start wishing it was true!
Best part is the car crunch. A metal pail is filled with glass bottles, held high in the air, and dropped straight into a metal trash can. The bottom of the pail hitting the can is accompanied by all the glass in the pail breaking. Broken glass stays in the trash can if it somehow gets out of the pail, and it sounds really ----ing cool.
Give him our thanks. Trumpet shindig, indeed. The guest soloists were Vince DiMartino, David Krauss from the Met, and Vladislav Lavrik, principal of the Russian National Orchestra. I'd never heard of the RNO or this guy, but he laid down the Arutunian and there were no questions after his performance. Yowza. Vlad rules.
