In another posting someone had a link to Denis Wick's website. I clicked and saw that they had a product called Vibrass. You slip your mouthpiece into this product and it massages your chops so you can go on playing. Has anyone tried this? If so does it do anything other then massage the equivalent of 71 pounds out of your wallet.

I was talking to a trumpet player about this last week. They find it useful, but I am sceptical of its use for tubists.
The name Vibrass caused a laugh in the brass section!

hmmm...
If you have a fridge/freezer handy, the best way to helps your chops, is to hold an ice cube with your front teeth and let it touch your lips for a little bit. Then wait a minute for your lips to warm back up and go on playing.
If you are playing at school, get a pop from the pop machine and hold it against your lips.
