Hallo Everyone,
I did not see Gronitz at the Frankfurt Musikmesse so here are a few pics from earlier this year when I was there. Gronitz is a tuba maker based out of Hamburg, Germany and they make some of the best tubas out there. The big rotary F and PCK 5/4 CC are particularly good.

I played on the Gronitz PCK CC at TMEA and was completely blown away. I play on two moutipieces regularly...Frank holton revelation 52 for band and orchestral work, and a pt-64 for solo/ensemble work. The gronitz responded remarkably in all ranges on both mouthpieces. On the Holton, the horn produced an open full dark sound with remarkable rosponse in the low register, yet with the pt-64 it produced the richest "Floyd Cooley" sound with remarkable response in the high range...especially for a 5/4 cc. You're right, it's a fantastic horn. Should be for the price tag. haha.
Yes, I played the big rotary F. Keep in mind there are two or three different models and they all come with some variations as well. The big rotary F i played was fantastic!
I have seen the PBK piston BBb tuba but i have not played it.
Concerning the price of Gronitz tubas...I think they are priced at or below many of their competitors. Hirsbrunner, Nirschl and Rudolph Meinl can be far more expensive. Honestly, one of the PCKs I tried was as good as or better than any other CC tuba I've played so I think for a top professional Kontrabass they are a good deal.

I would love to get my hands on 2 of the horns from the 6th pic down. That small Eb is awesome. And the GIANT Bohland & Fuchs Kaiser behind it is my absolute dream horn. Thanks for the pics!
