Amati ACB-631, anyone played this tuba?

This looks to be an interesting horn at a reasonable price, at least until the US dollar sank so low. I've never seen this tuba referred to on TUBENET, or anyplace else, for that matter. Has anyone played one? Is it a decent horn?

It seems to be relatively inexpensive....but I think buying this sorta horn probably depends on the purpose.

Maybe a beginner in high school who wants to go to college playing could start on the CC. It would definetely get him/her used to playing a 5 valve CC horn...however, it definetely wouldn't the a one last kinda horn...just based off of what I know about Amati products.

But...yes, I'd like to know if anyone has played this as well.

My recollection is fuzzy, but I seem to remember that Matt at Dillons wrote some positive things about this instrument about four years ago. I'll let you do your own search of the archives, if you so choose.
