Conn/King Sousa

Post by CTAYLOR »

this just makes me mad! I hated to see Conn merge with King. They marked this "King" horn with Conn USA. Must've been one of those made during the transition to Eastlake. I'm glad they dont do this anymore. Except on the fiberglass. I along with many others think Conn should bring back the 22K and the 14K! I guarantee they would sell like crazy. I wish Conn realized this..

Yeah they need to stop making that "fake" 36K and bring back the old CONN version, and I agree they need the 14K back also. They do need more variety.

I hope everyone knows that Conn, King, Selmer and all the sub-brands of them are owned by Steinway. I don't think Holton or Getzen is yet, but give 'em time.

Especially if you don't keep any stock on hand. It's one thing to keep low inventory to ride out low ebbs of business. But Kanstul seems to have taken this to an extreme of having basically no stock on any of their instruments, building mostly to order.

As are most "state-of-the-art" business models these days for longer leadtime items...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Inventory is debt, not asset.
