older Conn's are better than NEW Yamaha's anyway. Thats just my opinion, I've never been a fan of Yamaha. But you w0n't be dissapointed with a Conn 2J or 3J. They are GREAT little horns.

The Yammy has a very limited dynamic range without going blatty. Sound is smaller than a Conn 2J by a bunch.

Conn is a little more colorful, flexible, and has a bit more mass. Really, other than both being sorta "3/4" horns, they're not really similar at all.
