Best mute for King 1124 marching baritone

Post by bstevens »

Hi

I bought a King 1124 marching baritone to play jazz stuff etc with, but need to find a mute to play it with quieter bands. 10 inch bell I think - can anyone tell me which mutes I should be looking at? Bass Trombone straight ones seem logical, but can I get away with cheaper trombnone mutes? Not many shops in this area, so advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
bruce

The Humes & Berg "Baritone" mute works very well for marching baritones.

I guess just the classic jazz sound - soft and tinny. Ideally need something I can stick in without having to hold on to. Then when I get into "plunging" I'll be on the lookout for a REALLy big toilet.

Thanks,
