What CD would you recommend of these pieces? Preferably on the same CD. I'm looking at the Slatkin one any comments?

The Slatkin recording is really a pretty good one, in my opinion.

Cincinnati Pops/Erich Kunzel. Unbelievable trombone and tuba. Also first class sound.
