I am in a position to do some march selection for our adult, grade 3 level marching band. My questions are:
Is there a patriotic march suitable for a concert situation where we'd combine with a small high school band? Is there some sort of medly that honors police/firefighters or other traditional patriotic music? What marches are there that are decent to march to in a parade? (We already play Washington Post March).
Thanks in advance to the TNFJ (TM)

I just did a medley arrangment of the armed forces songs that would work very well for this situation. "Marches of the Armed Forces" I'll check on the publisher and such when I get back to the school on Tuesday (have Monday off
). Not difficult at all, but I thought it was scored very well and it holds a nice steady tempo throughout the entire piece. One of the other schools in the area marched with it for the local Veteran's Day parade this past November as well.

Re: March Music Question
I agree to the extent that many of his marches are widely known and real crowd-pleasers, however, I think it would be a bit of a stretch to classify the majority of them as "patriotic"; and some, e.g., Melody Shop, Barnum and Bailey's Favorite, Cyrus the Great, Invictus, The Big Cage—could be a challenge to play while marching.iiipopes wrote:Anything by Karl King.
