Literature, people...literature. You know, books. Things that you sit down and read. With real paper pages and stuff.
I mourn for our future.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

A very good book I read called called "You Don't Know Me" by David Klass features a main character who plays the tuba.

Piers Anthony's fantasy/sci-fi novel, Split Infinity.

Re: Tuba in Literature
One of the stories in Jean Shepard's book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash discusses experiences in marching band, with some treatment of sousaphones. A cameo appearance, to be sure, but it's worth the read to find it.
Chuck G once linked an archive of Shep's radio monologues, which were either summarized from the book or the basis for it--I forget which now. And there are several movies/TV shows that derive from that book.
