Hey everyone,

I am a semi-finalist for student tuba! It's my first time so any advice is greatly appreciated. Just wanted you to know that a Tubenetter made it!

Yeah, I auditioned for that, but didn't make it (student tuba). At least I made ITEC... :tuba:

Advice?

Before you go practice your butt off. Start early - you need to be ready to play
everything, including the finals pieces. You never know!

While you are there take advantage of the opportunity to hear and meet great
players - contestants and judges. Enjoy yourself and learn a lot.

What katfey modestly omitted is that her daughter won first place in last year's Falcone Tuba Artist Category!

Doesn't modesty seem a bit out of place on TubeNet--the land of the "World-Class Sound?"
