Bell size
I'm asking primarily concerning euph, but I am guessing that most of this information would apply to tuba as well
I currently have a Sovereign with the large bell on loan from a brass band I'm subbing for; I'll be purchasing a Sovereign with the smaller bell in a few days from a friend. Other than the obvious size, what are the differences between the bell sizes? I've played both horns and they are both wonderful players, but I haven't had the opportunity to sit down with both of them to compare so. . .enquiring minds want to know
.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Bell size
The total bell diameter doesn't make very much of a difference... but the "throat" size leading up to the end diameter does!
Just like a cornet and flugelhorn.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Re: Bell size
Thanks for the reply. Does anybody know if there is a difference in the throat size between the two different sovereign models and if so, what does that do to the horn, and why?windshieldbug wrote:The total bell diameter doesn't make very much of a difference... but the "throat" size leading up to the end diameter does!

Depending on when I'm able to pick up my new horn and when I have to return the borrowed horn I may or may not be able to have both horns at the same time to compare them. Thank you.
