2nd Valve Kicker

Post by Chris »

Hi folks,

I'm looking to acquire some photos of triggers on second valve slides for rotory tubas. Can you take some photos of your trigger and post them here or e-mail them to me at:

cfribley (at) gmail (dot) com

Thanks,

I don't have any pictures, but I understand Rudy Meinl has a 2nd valve kicker as a standard feature, so maybe there are some pictures on the website. Also, Dan Schultz has added 2nd valve kickers and I believe he has pictures of the projects on his website thevillagetinker.com .

This poor Rudy is on the German Ebay now, but since the valve paddles has been taken off there is a nice view of the 2 valve trigger.

The kicker story is maybe 1/4 of the way down. Dan did a fabulous job. Works great - brings those low B naturals right into focus. I'll get some more pics to you when I can.

Both of my horns (MW45SLP and VMI Culbertson Neptune) have 2nd valve kickers. They come that way from the factory. Any good catalog pix should show them, I'll take some pix of mine and post them when I get a chance.
