liquid wrench. Yes, it is petroleum based and will stink up the horn. So a bath will be in order afterwards. But it will do the job. Hell, you could probably just drown it in valve oil and let it sit and it will free up eventually. Just don't use a hammer and a nail

possible that the valve slide tubing is slightly bent and is binding. I won't suggest what to try for that, but you probably can guess.

First...

Put some valve oil down there - before thinking of liquid wrench. Capilary action is a beautiful thing...

Second - _be patient_. Let it sit for a day or two with gravity and capilary action acting on the oil. Add some more oil periodically.

Next, push the valve down first. Often we don't think of this, but it's less dangerous than hauling on it, and it is the direction of travel and where the valve has the most clearance.

If that fails, and failing training with a repair tech - take it to one. Odds are, if it's a problem of just sitting, then it will cost next to nothing to remove.

A better product than Liquid Wrench is PB Blaster. This is a relatively new penetrating product that works far better than anything else on the market.

I'm curious, Gary...on what do you base your conclusion that PB Blaster is a better penetrant? We sell both at work, and I am often asked which penetrating oil is "best."

How about Deep Creep? Kroil? Knock-er-Loose? Mac's?

As if I run tests in my home lab when I'm not at work.

PB Blaster isn't that new, and it works pretty well, but Kroil puts it to shame. I've tried them all.

OK...it gets the guy buying a $3 can of penetrating oil off your back so you can get back to the next customer or answer the *&%$(! phone.
