studying in Paris, France

Post by W »

I have been searching all around the internet for the Paris Conservatory or American Conservatory in Fountainebleau. I'm going into composition and these schools are of my interest, but the only information I found out is the one in Fountainbleau and it looks like it's only a summer camp thang. Does anybody know where or the webpage for these schools concerning grad work in composition? Thanks.

You mean the "real" Paris conservatory? Their site is French only (of course, it's France after all ;) !)

This section concerns foreign students:

Dude, don't go to France. France is a wacked out place and isn't a good "thang" for any tubist. Or any American.

France is a great musical country. So what if they don't back up all American policies. An excellent school for composition and musicology is the IRCAM in Paris. Check out their excellent web site at www.ircam.fr Of course you still have to learn French tuba at the regular conservatories in France. The IRCAM is more of a research institute than traditional music school. Good luck, John

But the women are drop dead beautiful, and HOT. Standing on a Paris bus holding on to pole, a wondorous young gal got on and stood facing me, looking into my eyes. But I lived through it![/code]
