Amnesya - The Final Riddle Challenge!

Post by jbaylies »

Amnesya is an online puzzle. It said that forums could work together to solve it, so I thought maybe TubeNet could give it a shot! So far no one has gotten to the final level, maybe we could be the first!

Right now I'm at level 16, but I will not post hints or answers yet because I know most people will want to solve it themselves.

Have fun!

This is a fun one...I got to level 25 tonight, but need to go to bed. A bit too addictive.

Here are some hints for level 3, highlight the text to view the hints. View only one at a time!:

1)What is the missing sign?
2)They are horoscope symbols.
3)Why is the missing sign 'confused'?
4)It's an anagram!

BTW I made it to level 40! And apparently the highest someone has ever gotten to is around 63. I've heard people talking about analyzing the plot spectrum of a song, converting that into text, decoding that text, and doing more crazy-hard things.

Good Luck! :D

I'm on 41, and trying to do 10 levels a day...keeps me busy at night!

If you solve level 41 could you tell me how to use this cipher? I've searched but no site gives a clear description.

EDIT: Never mind, I did it!

DOUBLEDIT: I will end the day on level 54. :D

Me and my brother worked all day for two days to get to that level.
And that's where we've been stuck for a day now and will probably remain stuck until someone answers this post:

If you get past that level then please help us!
Likewise, if you're stuck don't hesitate to PM me for hints, although I will be away at BYSO for the next 2 weeks.

And if you get bored, try my riddle, inspired by Amnesya.

I have to say that these are not the kind of puzzles I find satisfying. There might be a small element of logic, but most is just a matter of slinging oddball ideas at it until something works. When the solution is found, there is not much sense of having "solved" the thing, but more a feeling of having persevered and thrown enough stuff at it to eventually stumble upon the thing that worked.

I had the same issue with the old text adventure games for PC back in the early 80s (Look ma, no graphics!), good examples of which were the old Zork and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Logical puzzles were enjoyable. Puzzles where you had to try a bunch of off the wall stuff were not enjoyable.

Funny, that's how I felt about doing geometry proofs in high school.
