Do you still have that horn? I thought it sold years ago on old Tubenet.
I sold it privately/locally quite a few years ago. All of the fuss occurred when that person (a former Military bandsman) eBay'ed it. I've heard rumors that the present owner has cannibalized it, saving (what I considered to be) the instrument's weakest link for another "project".
Parts of it were used for a BBb Holton, as I recall from talking with that person. I played the BBb instrument for a few minutes and thought it pretty nice. I don't recall which of the parts were used in that instrument, however.

What kind of horn was that? (the one that looks like a 6/4)

It was made from otherwise junque Holton BBb outer branches mixed with other parts, including hand-made inner branches. It apparently had similar characteristics to the less-than-wonderful instrument whence it came, and though some were able to manage those idiosyncracies, none were willing to do so for a long time considering the instruments now available on the market.

The picture remains available (Bloke actually linked it from one of my pages) because of its beauty and craftsmanship.

Ok, I can't resist. When I was living and working in the Orlando area some 22-23 years ago, there was a GREAT tuba player named Russ Ward who had an Alexander Tuba with the most beautiful engraving of a naked woman on it. I mean, had it all. It was beautiful to look at. And the horn played really well too. Anyone know if Russ still has the horn? He is one of those great players no one ever hears about.

I have a couple that I think are up there. The first is the Henry Distin logo. Although the actual logo part is just text, the engraving around it always appears to there too. Here it is on my 1890's era BBb tuba.

Then there is the 1930's era King logo, like on one of my sousaphones.

They just don't make them like these anymore. Too bad.
