Glad to hear it.

Here!
tubashaman wrote: One of my friends said these exact words: "Tubenet makes me ashamed to call myself a tuba player." I sadly agree
I believe Tubenet has much more good than bad. To skip the good for the bad is your choice. It is not mine.
tubashaman wrote: so I have started using that foe button thing. What disappoints me is that these people can still see my posts and criticize me and do not want me here, yet they refuse to block me so they have the option of not reading my posts.
Does this mean I can say all kinds of things about you and you won't even get to read them and throw a temper tantrum. I'm glad to hear it. To me, the temper tantrums are what would embarrass me about Tubenet.
tubashaman wrote: I want to learn, and I know asking questions is going to help, unless they are stupid.
This is very, very good. I am so glad to hear you want to learn. If this is true, why would you need to use the "foe" feature. I learn things all the time. Sometimes I learn from my friends. Sometimes I learn things from people I don't like very much. Sometimes I learn things from people I don't even know. I try to learn new things every day. I am glad to hear you want to learn.[/quote]
tubashaman wrote: I have been trying to edit these posts as well as possible for effective communication and spelling. Please don't criticize me unless it is horrid from this point on, I don't criticize peoples spelling and grammar, and there are some on here that are worse than mine.
I thought you said you want to learn.
tubashaman wrote: Maybe I should join the players that actually play.....I never have seen the falcone finalists on here, I dont see anyone from Indiana University, University of Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona State, etc. on here, and they are hardcore players who can hold professional jobs..........maybe being off tubenet helps them improve??????
Have you not noticed that some of the giants of the tuba and euphonium world post, here. More importantly, they lurk here. Do we need to name them? Most Tubenet regulars know who they are. Regardless, posting on Tubenet doesn't mean that one is negligent in their practice. It is neither practical, nor beneficial, to practice all of one's waking hours. At least that is true in my opinion. Learning usually requires more than one source.

Well, it's good to see you back, Tubashaman. I realize you probably won't even be able to read this post, but so what? I believe Tubenet posts should be reclassified. One of those classifications could be "humor."

Yes. Yes, indeed.
Thankfully, Doc is on my "Foe" list, so I didn't see that...

Lo, and the bitching doth ended and the people rejoiced.

In other words, you couldn't kick the addiction.
tubashaman wrote:One of my friends said these exact words: "Tubenet makes me ashamed to call myself a tuba player." Your friend's syndrome is not unique. People are ashamed to share commonalities with you, James.
tubashaman wrote:Next point: grammar. Language is to be used for effective communications. I want to learn, and I know asking questions is going to help, unless they are stupid. I have been trying to edit these posts as well as possible for effective communication and spelling. You're right. Your linguistic facility is not the worst I have seen on Tubenet. However, do not delude yourself into thinking that there is no shame in second best.

You hear that, players from Eastman, Alabama, Kentucky, UNT, and parts beyond? You guys should stop wasting your time here since you're obviously a long way off from being hardcore players who can hold "professional jobs." Interesting since Abilene Christian University is such a major name in the tuba world, too.

Think before you speak, James. Ultimately, that is my only grievance.

I think Wade's meanness has rubbed off on me.

Watch it, Biggs. You'll join many of the rest of us on James' foe list. I know that will disappoint you greatly.

Or, conversely, you could throw a fit, threaten to be done posting here, and come back in less than 2 weeks.

I wish I couldn't see what you type. To wit:

UPDATE (I would wanna break any rules!):

Imagining Wade in a Tubenet Thong made me throw up.

James, see what you're missing?

This morning on the way to work, I was scanning the radio stations because there was nothing interesting on my usual stations. The scanner paused on a station, and the song sounded slightly familiar, it took me a few minutes to realize that it was, in fact, Manfred Mann's Doo-Wah-Diddy-Diddy, but in French.

Only if they're worldwide. Otherwise, it's just another Top Ten entry.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
