If memory serves me correctly (no taunts from the peanut gallery) the original and the 1947 version SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME. The only difference is one is in 6/4 and the other is in 3/2. The way I heard it was that the piece was coming up for some copyright renewal and Stravinsky had to change something to get it renewed. I believe the only "note" change between the two versions is in the 5/8 section. One is in the upper octave and the other is in the lower octave. YMMV.
