I am a young Swedish student about to buy a B&S F-tuba. It is a 3099W (quite similair to PT 10 (?))from 1996. I get double leadpipes, trigger on 2nd valve and hardcase. The tuba is really in great shape. Very few and small dents. The instrument plays great. I have played on it for 6 months. I am about to pay 5300 dollar for it. Is this a fair price? The are few used instruments available, but I really need a F-tuba for solos (owning a St Petersburg Bb-tuba).
I say go ahead and buy it. See if you talk the seller into can lowerering the price a bit, but because the tuba is in good shape, 5300 is a fair deal. Can't go wrong with a PT-10 either. And you already played on it for 6 months, must not hate it?

If you like it and it is in good condition, go for it. If not, don't.
