Got any Tuba and ??? duets?
I have quite a few arrangements for low brass quartets but I'm looking for duets for other 'interesting' combinations such as tuba and alto sax... tuba and banjo... tuba and clarinet.... etc. I COULD sit down and do a few transpositions but I prefer to be lazy and just buy some that are ready to go. Any ideas?

My wife is a flute player, and I happen to have some literature for tuba and flute and something even for tuba and piccolo, which is really fun to play...
There is some interesting works Walter S. Hartley, like an original "Duet for Flute and Tuba" (Tenuto Pub.) and a transcription of Telemann's Dances in A minor published by Ensemble Publications. Something really fun is "The Elephant and the Fly " for Tuba, piccolo and piano by Henry Kling, which is published by Piccolo Press.
It's always fun for the listener the contrast between the low tuba and the high piccolo... Ooops, I am forgetting a work by David Uber, the Giraffe and the bear, still for tuba and piccolo, but I don't remember the publishing company.. it could be always Piccolo Press I guess.. The hard thing is the intonation ( and playing with the wife, that's even hardest!!)
Bestr regards

I do like Tuba and ??? duets. A cool way to get to know some of the nice young ladies in the orchestra
Some I have got are:
Piccolo - Boa Constrictor and the Bobolink (Maganini)
Trumpet - Baroque 'n Brass (Anderson)
Cello - Beersheba neo-baroque Suite (Bartles)
Clarinet - Quattro Bicinie (Vaughan)
As I plan to be getting married shortly, maybe I will sell the duets to another tuba Don Juan

There are also a few tuba and ??? duets by PDQ Bach (Peter Schickele). The ones I have played are Dutch suite for tuba and bassoon and The only piece ever written for violin and tuba. There is also a "trio sonata" for two flutes, tuba and tambourine.

Not sure if adding piano is an option, but check out Barbara York's Conversations for Tuba or Euph, Sax and Piano.

Actually.... I am looking for tunes that are a little 'lighter' than most that have been mentioned in this thread. Classics are not my bag. I'm looking for sing-a-long tunes, oldies, and pop music.BVD Press wrote:Not sure if adding piano is an option, but check out Barbara York's Conversations for Tuba or Euph, Sax and Piano.
The thought occurred to me that ANY solo book that has a piano accompaniment can be played with the instrument it was written for and a tuba.
